Prerequisites:
- You must have a copy of the current edition “The Art of Voice Acting.” Weekly assignments include reading sections of this book.
- To receive the greatest benefit from this telecourse, you must be able to record high-quality audio on your computer and deliver MP3 files. This means that you have at least a basic home studio set up with basic knowledge of how to operate the equipment and software.
- If you do not have the ability to record on your computer, you may attend this class, however, we will not be able to provide you with any performance coaching during the course. Performance coaching is only available for students who submit weekly recorded audio tracks.
The Course:
Each session of this 8-week telecourse is about an hour and a half in length, held once a week on the phone. This course is designed to give you a solid foundation in the basics of voice acting and performing techniques that you can use in a wide variety of daily situations — including performing for film, television, stage, and voiceover. As a Telecourse student, you’ll have access to PDF files of scripts, supplements, and other resources.
You’ll instantly become a member of our VoiceActing Academy which will give you the opportunity to easily download class materials and the recording of each week’s call. You won’t get this with any other voiceover tele-seminar.

PLUS . . . you’ll have the opportunity to participate in the weekly calls in several ways:

You’ll learn things you won’t find in any other voiceover class!
We promise that you will learn a lot from every tele-class during this 8-week course, and as a telecourse subscriber, you’ll never need to miss a class.
Since our VoiceActing Academy telecourse has students from all around the world, we’ve scheduled each weekly call for a time we believe to be convenient for as many people as possible. But we also know that sometimes life gets in the way of what we want to do. Traffic problems, previously scheduled activities, and life’s little emergencies might prevent you from being on one or more calls.
If you can’t be on a call . . . don’t worry!
Each weekly call is recorded and is available for downloading from your VAA member page. And if that isn’t enough . . . As a graduate of our VAA telecourse, you’ll be considered an Art of Voice Acting Workshop Graduate, which will entitle you to our “serious discount” graduate tuition for our in-house produced Weekend Workshops. (Note: Tuition for sponsored guest workshops is usually already at a deep discount, so we can only offer our “AOVA graduate serious discount” for workshops that we produce and present ourselves.)
There are lots of voiceover classes out there . . . But many of them don’t teach you what you really need to know. Some will teach you how to “read” a script and then encourage you to spend more money to produce a demo before you're ready. The better workshops teach you the fundamentals of voiceover work and the acting skills you will need in order to compete in today’s voiceover talent market. When you register for the VoiceActing Academy Telecourse, you’ll get up-to-date information on how the voiceover business works, and you’ll learn acting skills that will instantly raise you above 77% of the voiceover talent out there!
The VoiceActing Academy Telecourse is not intended to replace our live 8-week or weekend Performance Workshops, prepare you for a demo, or qualify you to immediately begin marketing yourself as a voiceover talent. However, if you’re on a tight budget and you want to learn how to get started in the right direction, with the right information, from the very beginning . . . you’ll want to consider joining the next Art of Voice Acting Tele-course. And you’ll never need to leave home!
