As the first voice over casting director to present at VOICE, Martha Mayakis is looking forward to sharing her secrets for “What VO Casting Directors Want You to Know” at VOICE 2010.

As the voice over industry continues to change, actors are spending more and more time recording auditions alone and emailing them to someone they’ve never met. With no direction, and no feedback, it’s hard for an actor to know what he or she is getting right, or doing wrong.

Martha will be sharing what casting directors do, the benefits of working with one, and insider tips that will help you feel more confident when you get invited to that big in-person audition!

Martha will address:

  • What does it really take to succeed?
  • How can you avoid common demo blunders?
  • What about getting an agent? Can you have more than one?
  • How does a casting house audition differ from one at your agent’s office or one in your home?
  • How can outside direction make a difference?
  • What constitutes ‘being prepared’?
  • Recording studio/booth etiquette
  • What secrets do CD’s have that agents may not?
  • How can you increase your chances of booking?
  • What if you live ‘out of town’?
  • And more!

Do you want a long-term career in voice over? New to the biz or seasoned pro, in a small town or in a big city, this session is for you.

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to hear what’s what directly from a top Los Angeles VO casting director. Martha will help deflate the intimidating casting process, and will answer your questions… including ones you never thought to ask!
