Things You Can Do to Plan for VOICE 2010

SEND US A PICTURE OF YOUR PIGGY BANK!:

We’d love it if you would share a picture of what you’re doing to save up for VOICE. Just take a photo of your piggy bank or whatever shows how you’re planning for VOICE and send it to info@voice2010.com. We’ll post it on this page. If you’ve got some great ideas you’d like to share, please feel free to post them on the VOICE group at www.voiceoveruniverse.com.

JUNE IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER:

VOICE 2010 will be here before you know it, so it would be best to plan now to attend. We know the economy isn’t what we’d like it to be and it may take some planning for you to attend what has been a life-changing conference for many.

It’s a relatively simple matter to prepare for the next VOICE conference by putting a small amount aside each week. By the time VOICE comes around, you’ll have more than enough to cover all of your conference expenses and still have money to spend on studio upgrades, books, and other useful items that will be available in the VOICE Exhibit Hall.

11 THINGS YOU CAN DO NOW TO SAVE FOR VOICE 2010:

Here are some ideas to help you plan for your trip to LA next June. We’d love to add your ideas here - just send them in an e-mail to info@voice2010.com.

  1. Start your own VOICE Education Savings Account! Use the ideas here to get into the habit of depositing $25, $50, or whatever you’re comfortable with on a weekly basis. Use this account ONLY for your VOICE conference expenses and purchases. Leave any money left over in the account as the “seed money” for the next VOICE conference.
  2. Ask your clients, family, and friends to sponsor your trip to VOICE 2010. We’ve made arrangements to provide a 1/4 page ad in the VOICE Magazine at a very special price so you can thank your sponsors.
  3. Make your own coffee! If you have a cup a day, you can save up to $25 a week or more!
  4. “Brown Bag” your lunch two or three times a week to save $25 or more.
  5. Attend as many free VoiceActing Academy conference calls as you can (subscribe to our VoiceActing e-lists) to receive the announcements for our free conference calls). After each tele-class, pay yourself the amount you determine the class was worth to you.
  6. Every time you send out an audition, pay yourself an “Audition Fee” ($1.00 or more if you send out only a few each day; 25 or 50 cents if you send out a lot of auditions.) Deposit your “auditions fees” to your VOICE education account.
  7. For every paid voiceover job, set aside a predetermined percentage (10%, 15%, or more) as a contribution to your VOICE education and training fund.
  8. Start your own “Sorry Jar”! Put $5 or more into your jar every time you have a negative thought that keeps you from moving toward your voiceover goals or when you apologize for something that’s not your fault.
  9. When you go out for dinner or to a movie, set aside the amount you would pay for an additional person - and put that amount into your VOICE savings account.
  10. Deposit to your VOICE Savings Account the weekly equivalent of your “US Government Stimulus” savings - or more, if you can afford it.
  11. Visit www.feedthepig.org for all sorts of ideas on how to manage your finances and save up for attending VOICE 2010. (We are not affiliated with this web site and have nothing to gain from any of their services that you might subscribe to. There are, however, many free ideas, tips, and suggestions on this web site that you may find helpful.)

We look forward to meeting you at VOICE 2010.
